Upon arrival, you will be met by an English-speaking tour guide and transferred by private air-conditioned van to Abu Simbel, located 180 miles south of the First Cataract on the western bank of the Nile in the ancient region of Nubia. The site, known as Meha in antiquity, was first documented during the 18th Dynasty when Pharaohs Ay and Horemheb had rock-cut chapels hewn in the nearby hills.
• At Abu Simbel, explore the remarkable temples built by the legendary Pharaoh Ramses II. The Great Temple, dedicated to the god Ra-Horakhty, is a stunning architectural masterpiece, while the smaller temple honors Ramses II and his beloved queen Nefertari. After completing your tour, return to Aswan by private vehicle.
