The Middle Kingdom

After the collapse of old kingdom of Egypt the country entered a period of  weakness called (the first intermediate period )but it’s reunified by King Mentuhoteb II who assented the Theban throne 2055 BC that why we can say Mentuhoteb II the founder of Middle Kingdom .
Mentuhoteb II led military campaign south till second cataract (Nubia )  Mentuhoteb III ruled Egypt only  for 12 years, building a series of forts in the eastern delta to secure Egypt against threats coming from Asia he also the first expedition to Punt ,MENTUHOTEB III succeeded by Mentuhoteb IV whose name significantly is omitted from all ancient Egyptian kings list . Then AMENEMHET I was led a campaign to delta ergo and he strengthened defenses between Egypt and Asia (building the wall of ruler in east delta region ) and perhaps AMENEMHET built the capital of Egypt in the north known as AMENEMHET sizer of the two lands ,the reign of AMENEMHET II has been known as largely peaceful ,and this King send a campaign to Nubia .
In his 33rd Regnal year he appointed his son senusert II placed his pyramid at side of lahun and he ruled only for 15 years.
King Senusert III (he was a warrior   King ) in his sixth year he re-dredged an old kingdom canal around the first cataract to facilitate travel to Nubia .
Senusert III built many of massive forts around Egypt ,in Nubia senusert was worshiped as patron God by Egyptian settlers .
The height of Middle Kingdom economic prosperity was during the reign of Amenehate III , there are 25 separate references to mining expeditions in the Sinai and four to expeditions in wadi Hamamat, one of which had over 2,000 workers.
One of the innovations in sculpture that occurred during the Middle Kingdom was the block statue ,which be popular through Ptolemaic period (2000 later )
Without doubting ,the history and monuments of Middle Kingdom consider very important part of ancient Egyptian history and the art during this period a very strong evidence  of the skills of  ancient Egyptian craftsmen
